You may know him as your favorite DJ in the 704, but this guy is way more than that. When I first met DLO, he used to be one of my models and been showing nothing but greatness. He also has a clothing line called "PR3SZN" that you should check out as well. My skillet, my son, and m

y favorite DJ won't be and can't be stopped.
DLO: I started djing in middle school but never took it seriously till my sophomore year in college. I began djing for the fashion society and got my name out there until I did my first house party. Throughout my sophomore year I grinder getting experience and my name out there doing constant house parties until I got my first club gig junior year. Since then, I DJ’d for DA Baby, Stunna 4 Vegas & Mulatto, also djing for Charlotte all-star weekend for the NBA & CIAA.
KLVO: What do you think about the music industry? Does it need change? DLO: I like the music industry so far it’s fun seeing the new wave breakthrough to the mainstream with social media like Twitter & Tik Tok. I feel a massive change is bout to happen soon maybe not this decade but soon. I think a new genre will be born with how many sub-genres of hip hop there is. It Mirrors how rock and roll had multiple sub-genres. KLVO: What’s important to you when you’re spinning mixes? DLO: The most important thing is having fun. 2nd is the selection of the music-making sure it’s a balance of songs I like and songs the audience likes as well. 3rd is my technique am I blending the songs and matching them correctly to keep the crowd engaged.
KLVO: What is your greatest accomplishment you made when you started DJ’ing
DLO: My greatest accomplishment is djing for a platinum-selling artist. It was written as a goal in my journal summer prior to me djing for him. It was a dream/ goal of mine that I’ve always had since I was younger and making it come true showed me that I can make things come true no matter how hard the task I just have to stay persistent and consistent.

KLVO: Who would you add on your summer playlist?
DLO: It’s some dope artist out right now. Smino, Lil Uzi, Dom Kennedy, Casey Veggies & young Nudy. KLVO: Do you play any instruments? DLO: I play the Saxophone, piano, & drums It all started with the piano since Elementary school it was my foundation to the music. I learned everything to understand music theory to pick up other instruments. I’ve honestly only had an interest in the Alto Saxophone and playing the drums. The only other instrument I wish I learned was the Guitar but I have a lot of time to learn. KLVO: Who would you wanna work with? DLO: I’d want to work with Playboi Carti. People’s opinion on him is 50/50 either love or hate. I honestly love his music.
The reason being when I listen to music, I don’t listen for lyrics, if you have lyrics it’s a bonus but I listen for tone play in rappers. If you know how to make me feel a song with the beat or how you use your voice to compliment the beat. I see his music more of an orchestra. You have the drums, and his voice is an instrument to go with the music. No doubt his music played a significant role in my style of fashion and music selection as well. He motivated me to become comfortable being that weird kid in school with weird music taste, but can still make you jam at a music function.
